Dr. La Shawn Denise Witt, The Global Strategist is an award-winning Educational Consultant & Trainer, Educator, Keynote Speaker, Lecturer, Transformational Speaker, Author and President of Witt & Associates, LLC. A native of Los Angeles, California, Dr. Witt worked in the field of education for over 25 years as a Director, Principal, Assistant Principal, Middle School Teacher and various Teacher on Special Assignment positions.

Dr. Witt launched her Educational Consulting business, Witt & Associates, LLC. She is committed to igniting transformational change within school districts, higher education institutions and businesses and empowering minorities to excel as leaders. Our purpose-driven consulting fosters growth, resilience and cultivates visionary leadership, enabling these leaders to drive positive change in the educational landscape. Through personalized coaching, leadership retreats and leadership development, we build bridges to success, forging a brighter future for all.

In addition, her team provides strategic planning and professional development to schools experiencing teacher shortages, teacher retention matters, and assist districts in the execution of administrative retreats for executive leadership teams and classified/certificated staff development. In addition, she provides training for teacher leaders and assistant principals who have a desire to move toward principalship.

Dr. Witt has brought innovation to learning and motivational change for leaders, educators and learners of all kinds of groups in urban, rural, corporate and educational settings around the globe. As an Academic Coach, she has honed her abilities to develop and deliver effective professional development sessions, supporting teachers in their quest for continuous improvement.

Dr. Witt has worked with schools/district sharing her strategies with teachers and administrators helping them to increase their students’ achievement and to improve on classroom management techniques. The success of the teachers and administrators that have consistently implemented her techniques is a testament to the effectiveness of her strategies. In addition to her strategies, Dr. Witt unique and inspiring presentation style makes her one of the most sought-after speakers in education today.

Dr. Witt also works with faith-based organizations and corporations to assist with assessing their organizational structure and build a structure that maximizes efficiency, builds capacity and creates the culture they want. She has successfully identified organizational strengths and stability and incorporated those strengths into planning, reviewed business planning objectives and short-term goals to assess where more support or capacity is needed to reach the goals. She has also provided the management teams with a prioritized set of structural and cultural recommendations, new job descriptions or team communication strategies. Lastly, she continually provides all these organizations with follow-up support.

She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority- Inglewood Alumnae Chapter where she holds various positions. Dr. Witt is also a member of Jack and Jill of America, The Links, Incorporated and Tabahani Book Circle.

Dedicated to her personal educational advancement, she has earned two Bachelor degrees from Loyola Marymount University in Biology and African American studies, a Masters degree in Education including her secondary teaching credential from Pepperdine University, administrative credential with special education leadership certification in the Masters of Education ISLA program from Loyola Marymount University, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. In addition, she has completed graduate level courses in the Masters of Human Services and Personnel Counseling program at Mount Saint Mary’s College.

Outside of her professional commitments, La Shawn indulges in her passions of traveling, reading, shopping, attending live concerts, and community service. Dr. Witt currently resides in Inglewood California where she enjoys spending time with the love of her life, her adult daughter Morgan, who is a graduate of Howard University. Her two Shih Tzu’s Dolce & Gabbana have gone on to doggie heaven.
